Federal Express Corporation, a leading express transportation company, has concluded its FedEx Library Program for the fiscal year 2025. The initiative aims to improve reading conditions in underprivileged and rural areas across China. This year, the program reached 40 schools and communities, benefiting nearly 9,000 children and teachers by enhancing access to education in remote regions.

The program established 40 reading rooms and book corners in ten schools located in Henan, Shaanxi, Jiangxi, Guangdong, Tianjin, Anhui, and Shanxi provinces. Over 12,000 books were donated as part of these efforts. In addition to this contribution, FedEx employee volunteers provided 900 reading kits to 24 schools and communities. Furthermore, nearly 700 second-hand books were donated to approximately 3,000 students across seven rural primary schools. The initiative involved close to 100 volunteer hours from more than 70 FedEx China team members.

Poh-Yian Koh, senior vice president of FedEx and president of FedEx China commented on the program's objectives: “Since entering into the Chinese market in 1984, FedEx has been committed to connecting China with the global market while leveraging our network and resources to support the communities where we live, serve, and work.” He emphasized that "the FedEx Library Program fully utilizes our expertise to bridge the cultural gap in different regions and support development in rural areas."

Launched in 2012, the program has expanded significantly over time. To date it has reached a total of 52 schools and communities throughout China. Over a decade it has established 20 reading rooms along with creating 193 book corners in deprived areas. A total of 57,550 books have been donated impacting more than 19,000 children and teachers.

FedEx encourages its global team members to engage with their local communities through volunteerism as part of its ‘Drive forward. Give back’ campaign.
