Private jets offer wealthy travelers the convenience of choosing their departure times and accessing a wider range of airports compared to commercial flights. These jets, although smaller than commercial airliners, possess remarkable range capabilities, enabling them to reach global destinations. Many private jets can even undertake direct flights across the Pacific Ocean.

For journeys such as Los Angeles to Tokyo, spanning approximately 4,760 nautical miles (5,475 miles), large private jets or corporate airliners converted into business jets are typically required. This includes models like the Boeing Business Jet (BBJ) and Airbus Corporate Jet (ACJ). Ultra-long-range business jets also make this trip possible without stops, flying over 6,000 nautical miles (6,905 miles) and accommodating up to 19 passengers depending on configuration. Manufacturers such as Bombardier, Gulfstream, and Dassault dominate this category.

Gulfstream's G800 is noteworthy for its unprecedented range of 8,200 nautical miles (9,400 miles) and top speed of Mach 0.935 (617 mph). The G700 offers a maximum range of 7,750 nautical miles (8,920 miles). Other Gulfstream models capable of Pacific crossings include the G650ER and variants like the G500 and G600.

Bombardier's Global 7500 boasts a range of 7,700 nautical miles (8,861 miles), with the upcoming Global 8000 projected to reach 8,000 nautical miles (9,206 miles). Dassault plans to introduce the Falcon 10X in 2026 with a range of 7,500 nautical miles (8,630 miles).

Boeing Business Jets provides VIP transport options based on its commercial airliners. Notable among these are conversions from the Boeing 737 MAX series and widebody airliners like the BBJ787 Dreamliner variant with an impressive range of up to 9,960 nautical miles (11,460 miles).

Airbus Corporate Jets offers similar conversions with models like the ACJ330-200 and ACJ350 capable of reaching ranges up to 10,800 nautical miles (12,428 miles).
