The Boeing 777, a prominent aircraft in the aviation industry, marked its 30th anniversary of service this year. United Airlines was the launch customer for the first Boeing 777, delivered on May 15, 1995. The aircraft with registration N777UA remains active today. Interestingly, the world's oldest active 777 is N774UA, which had its first test flight in July 1994.
Boeing continues to manufacture various models of the 777 series including the 777-200, 777-200ER, and others. Emirates leads as the largest operator of these aircraft globally, followed by United Airlines and Qatar Airways.
In June 2025, data from Cirium Diio highlighted London Heathrow to New York JFK as the most popular route for Boeing 777 flights. Despite an increase in services between Tokyo Haneda and Sapporo over the past year, London Heathrow to New York JFK maintained its lead.
