Lufthansa has announced the reopening of its first class lounge at Munich Airport. The lounge, closed since October 2024, is now available to passengers from 05:00 to 22:00 daily. In addition to the lounge, Lufthansa provides a first class check-in area at the airport.

The closure was due to renovations that took longer than expected because of "unforeseen maintenance work." Despite this delay, Lufthansa assures passengers they can once again enjoy the modern design and amenities of the lounge.

Spanning over 1,000 square meters, the facility includes a newly designed gastronomic area with an à la carte restaurant and a bar. Other features include quiet retreats, elegant washrooms, well-equipped work areas with printers and photocopiers, and entertainment facilities with TV areas and a variety of newspapers and magazines.

This reopening is part of what Lufthansa calls a "major premium offensive," which also includes refurbishing its first class check-in area. Earlier this year, CEO Jens Ritter emphasized the airline's commitment to reinventing its first class experience. “Our new First Class...is unrivaled worldwide,” Ritter stated.

Munich serves as a hub for Allegris flights exclusively offered by Lufthansa. In May, destinations include Bengaluru, Chicago O’Hare International Airport, Newark Liberty International Airport, San Diego International Airport, Shanghai Pudong, and San Francisco International Airport.

With its winter schedule set to start on October 26th until March 2026, Allegris-equipped A350-900s will fly to additional destinations including Cape Town International Airport and Miami International Airport among others. This marks "the largest number of Allegris destinations operating simultaneously since its debut,” according to Lufthansa.
