American Airlines is set to enhance its buy-on-board menu for economy class passengers, introducing a range of new snacks and beverages starting next month. The updated selection will include sliders, tapas, and biltong, alongside an expanded beverage offering featuring tequila sourced from a Texas-based supplier.

The airline has announced that it "will begin offering tequila on select flights as an in-flight alcoholic beverage option for eligible customers" starting June 1st. This addition responds to customer demand, with the tequila being supplied by "Dallas-Fort Worth’s own award-winning Socorro Tequila," part of the I & A Agave Spirits portfolio. American Airlines expects this tequila to be widely available across its flights by the end of June.

In terms of food offerings, American Airlines plans to introduce a "hearty steak and pimento cheese sandwich" on mainline flights longer than 1,100 miles. Other new options include 'Tray Table Tapas,' featuring items such as olives and beef jerky, and Brooklyn Biltong Steakhouse Air Dried Beef Jerky.

For premium passengers, American Airlines is rolling out a new snack basket in June to complement existing morning and afternoon options. The new midday snack basket will launch on June 11th, providing a lunch-friendly selection including cookies and popcorn.

These enhancements are part of American Airlines' efforts to improve passenger experience ahead of the busy summer travel season.
