Emirates announced on X that it has added 46 extra flights to support pilgrims and holiday travelers during Hajj and Eid al-Adha.

According to Emirates’ official media centre, the airline has scheduled 33 additional flights to Jeddah and Medina during the Hajj travel period, operating through May 31 and again from June 10 to 16. These services are specifically intended to support thousands of Muslim pilgrims traveling to the Holy City of Mecca. Emirates is also adding 13 regional flights to destinations like Amman, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Dammam to accommodate demand during Eid Al Adha.

As reported by Gulf News, Emirates expects to transport nearly 32,000 Hajj passengers over a three-week period from major source markets including Pakistan, Indonesia, the United States, and South Africa. The airline has seen particularly strong bookings from cities in Southeast Asia and West Africa. Emirates has implemented special services and airport support to ease the travel experience for Hajj pilgrims.

According to Travel and Tour World, the Emirates initiative aligns with logistical planning and pilgrimage goals established by the UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority and Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. The airline’s service expansion is designed to ensure safe, high-capacity travel during one of the Islamic calendar’s busiest travel seasons. Emirates' operational support plays a critical role in broader regional tourism goals, including Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and Dubai’s Department of Tourism directives.

Emirates is the largest airline in the Middle East and a flagship carrier for the United Arab Emirates, headquartered in Dubai. According to Wikipedia, the airline operates more than 3,600 flights per week to over 150 cities across six continents, with a fleet primarily composed of wide-body aircraft including the Boeing 777 and Airbus A380. Emirates is part of the Emirates Group and is owned by the government of Dubai’s Investment Corporation of Dubai.
