Airbus has announced the appointment of a new head of technology. Remi Maillard, currently serving as the top executive for South Asia, is set to assume this role. This move was reported by Reuters, although Airbus has not officially commented on it.

The newly created position will combine the roles of Chief Technology Officer and Head of Commercial Aircraft Engineering, positions previously held by Sabine Klauke. Klauke will transition to lead digital design generation and manufacturing activities from July 1st.

Maillard's career at Airbus includes leading efforts in India and holding multiple roles such as President & Managing Director of Airbus India & South Asia. Before joining Airbus, he worked with Siris Partenaires and held several positions at Airbus Helicopters.
