Airbus, a leading name in the aircraft manufacturing industry alongside Boeing, has developed an extensive range of narrowbody and widebody aircraft since its establishment in 1970. With over 15,500 commercial aircraft produced throughout its history, Airbus's A320-family remains one of the most successful models.

The company currently offers two narrowbody families: the A220 and the A320. The A220 includes the A220-100 and A220-300 models, while the A320 family comprises several variants including the A318, A319, A320, and different versions of the A321 such as the A321LR and A321XLR.

Determining the exact price of these aircraft is complex due to factors like engine options and customer-specific customizations. While Airbus no longer publishes list prices for its planes—a practice it discontinued in 2018—industry estimates provide insights into their costs. According to data from Cirium, the estimated prices for new models are significantly lower than their last published list prices from 2018.

For instance, while the list price for an Airbus A321XLR was $129.5 million in 2018, current estimates suggest a cost exceeding $70 million. However, actual purchase prices can vary widely based on negotiations with major customers such as Aer Lingus and Wizz Air.

The high cost of the Airbus A321XLR can be attributed to its extended range capabilities and modifications like reinforced landing gear to support increased Maximum Takeoff Weight (MTOW) and additional fuel tanks for longer flights. The "Xtra-long-range" model allows airlines to operate routes that were previously not feasible for narrowbody jets.

In addition to commercial jets, Airbus also manufactures corporate jets under its Airbus Corporate Jet (ACJ) series designed for private clients. These jets are modeled on existing passenger variants but feature distinct interior designs. Prices for these ACJ models vary considerably depending on their configuration.

Although older Airbus narrowbodies like those in the original ceo-family are out of production, they remain available on the second-hand market at significantly reduced costs compared to newer models like the A321XLR.

In reality, airlines seldom pay full list prices when acquiring aircraft due to significant discounts negotiated during large-scale orders. For example, IndiGo's order for 300 Airbus A320neo-family planes would have been valued at over $33 billion at list prices but likely cost around half that amount after negotiations.

Christian Scherer from Airbus emphasized this point by stating that "catalogue prices are relatively meaningless," serving more as benchmarks from which discounts are negotiated rather than true representations of purchase costs.

When comparing with Boeing's offerings in terms of pricing within similar categories—such as Boeing’s 737 MAX series—the market dynamics remain competitive despite neither company publishing updated list prices anymore.
