Etihad Airways has announced a new competition, 'The Extraordinary Challenge,' offering a substantial reward for its loyalty program members. The Abu Dhabi-based airline aims to promote its newly launched routes by encouraging frequent flyers and loyalty members to visit as many of these destinations as possible within a year.

Participants in the competition have the opportunity to win five million miles, with additional prizes of three million and one million miles for second and third place finishers. Mark Potter, Managing Director of Etihad Guest, stated: "This challenge embodies Etihad’s purpose to give flight to ambition. We’re inviting our adventurous members and travellers to explore 15 incredible destinations while competing for our largest-ever miles prize."

The airline is introducing flights to 15 new year-round destinations in 2025. These include cities across Africa, Asia, Europe, and North America such as Addis Ababa, Algiers, Tunis, Chiang Mai, Hanoi, Hong Kong, Krabi, Medan, Peshawar, Phnom Penh, Taipei, Prague, Sochi, Warsaw, and Atlanta.

Etihad's promotional material outlines that both new and existing Etihad Guest members can participate. Interested individuals must travel on an Etihad-operated flight to or from all 15 destinations by May 25th, 2026. A unique feature of the initiative includes a "dedicated race dashboard" with digital passport stamps and a live leaderboard.

According to Etihad Airways' statement earlier today: "This seismic sum can equate to over 500 economy class flights or more than 70 trips in business class or more than 40 unforgettable journeys in first class." This offers flexibility for both luxury travelers and those preferring economy flying.

Participants can sign up via a dedicated page on Etihad's website to take part in this ambitious contest.
