Cathay Pacific has announced that its handcrafted pale ale, Betsy Beer, is now available on all routes. The announcement was made on the social media platform X.

Betsy Beer was first introduced by Cathay Pacific in 2017 as the world's first hand-crafted bottled beer brewed to be enjoyed at 35,000 feet. Initially, it was available exclusively to First and Business Class passengers on select routes. Its unique formulation was designed to counteract the dulling of taste buds at high altitudes, offering passengers a flavorful experience in the skies.

According to Cathay Pacific, the latest iteration of Betsy Beer features flavors of mandarin orange, slightly roasted barley, and carefully balanced hops to enhance its taste at cruising altitude. The beer is now available in all classes on long-haul routes and can also be enjoyed in the airline's lounges at Hong Kong International Airport. This expansion aims to provide a consistent and enhanced inflight dining experience across different travel classes.

The beer is named after "Betsy," Cathay Pacific's first aircraft, a Douglas DC-3 that flew passengers around the region in the 1940s and 1950s. The design of the beer's label pays tribute to the original aircraft, incorporating elements inspired by its blueprint and measurements. This homage reflects the airline's dedication to its heritage and commitment to delivering unique experiences to its passengers.

Cathay Pacific is the flag carrier of Hong Kong, offering scheduled passenger and cargo services to over 190 destinations worldwide. The airline operates a fleet of wide-body aircraft, including Airbus A350s and Boeing 777s, and is a founding member of the Oneworld alliance. It is renowned for its commitment to service excellence and innovation in the aviation industry.
