Hainan Airlines has announced a new direct international route between Jeddah and Haikou, marking its first connection between Saudi Arabia and China. This development was shared in a post on X.

The airline will commence the Haikou–Jeddah route on June 28, 2025, marking its inaugural direct connection between the two countries. The service will operate three times weekly—on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays—using Airbus A330-200 aircraft. According to AeroRoutes, this expansion reflects Hainan Airlines' strategy to enhance its international network and foster stronger ties between China and Saudi Arabia.

The flight schedule indicates departures from Haikou Meilan International Airport at 03:30 Beijing time, arriving in Jeddah at 08:05 local time. Return flights are scheduled to depart Jeddah at 13:00 local time, arriving in Haikou at 04:00 the following day. As reported by Webull, the approximately 10-hour flight aims to facilitate increased travel and economic exchange between the regions.

This route launch is part of a broader collaboration between Hainan Airlines and the Saudi Air Connectivity Program (ACP), which signed an agreement in September 2023 to establish new air links between China and Saudi Arabia. The partnership aims to boost annual passenger capacity and support growing demand for travel between the two countries. According to the ACP, this initiative aligns with efforts to deepen bilateral relations and enhance connectivity.

Hainan Airlines is headquartered in Haikou, Hainan Province, and is one of China's largest carriers. It operates a fleet of over 220 aircraft to more than 120 destinations worldwide. Established in 1989, the airline is known for its commitment to service quality and has received multiple Skytrax 5-Star Airline ratings. According to Wikipedia, Hainan Airlines plays a significant role in connecting China to global markets, with hubs in Beijing, Xi'an, and Haikou.
