Cathay Pacific has introduced a new dining option called "Chinese Classics" for its Business class passengers. This menu, inspired by the Eight Great Cuisines of China, aims to enhance the inflight culinary experience and highlight Cathay Pacific's commitment to innovative dining.

The airline recently hosted a tasting event to unveil this new offering. The "Chinese Classics" menu is designed to complement existing options like "Hong Kong Flavours" and "International Favourites." It includes dishes from regions such as Sichuan, Fujian, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shandong, Guangdong, Anhui, and Hunan.

Cathay Pacific's culinary team has conducted extensive research into the flavors and cooking techniques of these regional cuisines. The goal is to maintain authentic taste and presentation even at high altitudes. Erica Peng, Cathay Director Customer Travel, stated: “Our ‘Chinese Classics’ menu complements our already popular ‘Hong Kong Flavours’ and ‘International Favourites’ options, showcasing rich Chinese cultural heritage to all our customers."

Since April 2025, the airline has been gradually introducing these offerings on selected flights from Hong Kong to Mainland China. A complete rollout of all eight regional cuisines is expected by 2026. Additionally, Cathay Pacific plans to release a documentary series in July that explores the cultural roots behind these dishes.

The airline continues to invest heavily in enhancing its services and products with over HK$100 billion allocated towards fleet upgrades and digital innovations. By August 2025, Cathay Pacific will offer full seatback inflight entertainment and high-speed Wi-Fi across its fleet.

Looking forward, Cathay Pacific remains focused on refining its dining options while promoting Chinese culture globally.
