American Airlines has announced a collaboration with Hollywood designer Brandon Blackwood to introduce a new line of amenity kits for premium cabin passengers. These limited-edition kits will be available on select international, transcontinental, and Hawaii flights starting later this month through early September.

Blackwood, known for his luxury fashion designs worn by celebrities, is part of American's second limited-edition amenity kit initiative following a previous collaboration with Raven & Lily in 2024. The new kits will vary based on the passenger's cabin and route, featuring custom packaging and skincare products.

Passengers flying in Flagship First and Flying Suite will receive a compact version of Blackwood’s Portmore handbag styled in denim. Flagship Business customers will get a black pouch with red zip detailing, while Premium Economy passengers will have a blue and white checkered pattern kit matching the cabin’s color palette. Each kit includes skincare products from Buttah and Pholk.

This partnership represents a shift in American Airlines' strategy to appeal to younger travelers who value design and individuality. Heather Garboden, Chief Customer Officer at American Airlines, stated: "Brandon’s bold, fashion-forward designs are the perfect addition to our amenity kit collection."

With 55% of its customers now millennials or younger, American Airlines is focusing on enhancing the overall customer experience through design and personalization. Recent updates include expanded onboard food and beverage offerings and refreshed lounges at Philadelphia International Airport.

The airline has also redesigned its mobile app and introduced a revised boarding process aimed at simplifying pre-departure experiences. Complimentary onboard Wi-Fi is planned for January 2026 as part of ongoing improvements driven by their new Customer Experience organization.

In related developments reported by View from the Wing, American Airlines is considering reintroducing seatback entertainment screens on narrowbody aircraft like Airbus A319s and A320s during major maintenance cycles. Other potential enhancements include installing USB-C charging ports throughout the main cabin and expanding Main Cabin Extra seating.
