Adel Ahmad Al Redha Deputy President & Chief Operations Officer | Emirates Airline

The inaugural flights to Da Nang on June 2 and Siem Reap on June 3 were marked with traditional water cannon salutes and greetings from government dignitaries and airport officials. Emirates' leadership teams inaugurated services at each destination.

Emirates operates both routes using its wide-body Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, providing the airline's signature products and award-winning service, along with seamless connections to Dubai and beyond through its global network.

Nabil Sultan, Emirates' Executive Vice President of Passenger Sales and Country Management, stated: "Launching two new routes via Bangkok marks a significant milestone in strengthening Emirates’ presence in Southeast Asia and reinforces our long-standing commitment to Thailand as a strategic gateway to the region."

Sultan added that travelers can now enjoy seamless connectivity across three distinct destinations—Dubai, Bangkok, and either Da Nang or Siem Reap—with a single ticket. He expressed gratitude towards partners, including local authorities and airports for their cooperation in Emirates’ expansion efforts in this region.

Da Nang becomes Emirates’ third gateway in Vietnam, joining Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. It will serve as an essential link for high-value cargo such as electronics, textiles, and perishables. With 25 weekly flights, Emirates’ operations in Vietnam are supported by partnerships like recent MoUs with Vietnam Airlines, VietJet, and Sun Group. These aim to enhance air connectivity to the Southeast Asian hub and promote inbound tourism.

The new Dubai–Bangkok–Siem Reap route operates three times weekly. It complements Emirates' existing daily service to Phnom Penh via Singapore, expanding the airline's presence in Cambodia to 10 weekly flights.

These new routes are strategically timed for leisure travelers from key European markets. They will also open more opportunities for cultural and business exchanges under the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreements (CEPA) established between the UAE and both Cambodia and Vietnam.
