Southwest Airlines is commemorating its 54th anniversary with a promotional campaign offering significant discounts on flights. The airline announced that it would provide up to 50% off base fares for select flights across the continental United States. This offer is valid for travel between August and December, with bookings open from June 3 to June 5, 2025.

The sale is part of Southwest's "Week of WOW" initiative, which includes additional perks such as hotel and car rental deals, cruise sweepstakes, and a points promotion for Rapid Rewards Credit Card members. To benefit from the flight discount, customers must use the promo code WOWZERS at checkout on Southwest.com.

Jennifer Bridie, Vice President Marketing at Southwest Airlines, stated: "This month, we're celebrating 54 years of connecting People to what's important in their lives. The Week of WOW offers everything [the customers] need to plan the perfect trip, along with more opportunities to earn Rapid Rewards points for future travel."

Eligible Rapid Rewards Credit Card members can earn ten points per dollar on qualifying purchases made directly with Southwest between June 3 and June 9. These purchases include flights and other packages offered by the airline.

Additionally, Southwest is hosting a sweepstakes where customers can win either 500,000 Rapid Reward points and a Carnival cruise for two or one of five runner-up prizes of 100,000 points. Entries are accepted through July 31 without any purchase requirement.

The airline also provides limited-time hotel benefits until June 9. Customers booking a minimum three-night stay via the Southwest Hotels platform can earn five times Rapid Rewards points or receive a discount when paying entirely with points.

Furthermore, up to 30% off Dollar car rentals reserved during this period are available through Southwest’s portal. Eligible rentals must be picked up by November 30 at participating airport locations.

Southwest Airlines was founded in 1967 and began operations in Texas in 1971. Over the decades, it has grown into one of the largest domestic carriers in the U.S., operating an all-Boeing fleet serving over 100 destinations across North America and beyond. The airline continues to focus on enhancing customer experience while maintaining its reputation for reliability and service-oriented operations.
