Ontario, California, marked a significant milestone by welcoming its second long-haul passenger route from STARLUX Airlines, connecting to Taipei. This development makes STARLUX the second airline operating Airbus A350 aircraft on this route. Ontario, located within the Greater Los Angeles area, is currently ranked as the 60th-busiest airport in the United States based on passenger flights for June.
The new route has a maximum block time of 14 hours and 5 minutes and joins a list of ten Californian A350 routes exceeding 14 hours in duration. With this addition, STARLUX now serves four US airports, three of which are in California: Los Angeles, Ontario, and San Francisco.
The longest nonstop A350 flight from California remains Singapore Airlines' service to Los Angeles with a block time of up to 17 hours and 35 minutes. Other notable long-haul routes include Singapore Airlines' flights to San Francisco and Qatar Airways' services from Doha to both Los Angeles and San Francisco.
