Swedish audio streaming service Spotify has partnered with United Airlines to provide streaming services on the airline's in-flight entertainment systems. This marks the first time Spotify will offer audiobooks and video podcasts on an airline, according to United Airlines.
The collaboration will introduce over 450 hours of free content across United's fleet of 680 aircraft. Initially, passengers will have access to a limited selection of Spotify content, but starting next year, those with Spotify accounts can connect their personal devices to access their full libraries through the in-flight screens.
United Airlines aims to enhance its in-flight entertainment offerings by integrating fast WiFi services and Bluetooth-accessible screens. Passengers can enjoy over 65 selections from Spotify, including titles such as "Good Hang with Amy Poehler," "The Dave Chang Show," and "The Comment Section with Drew Afualo." The content will be available under a new 'Spotify' category on the home menu.
