FedEx, a global leader in express transportation, has launched the 2025 "Together, Act for Good – Protecting One Kilometer of A River Course" program in partnership with the All-China Environment Federation (ACEF). The initiative seeks to boost awareness about water environment protection and foster collaborative efforts in river conservation across China. It aligns with the broader goal of creating a Beautiful China and advancing sustainable development.

The program will take place in 15 cities throughout China, including Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou. Activities will involve local environmental groups and community volunteers in efforts such as shoreline cleanups and biodiversity conservation. This initiative aims to spread knowledge about river course protection to a wider audience.

Poh-Yian Koh, senior vice president of FedEx and president of FedEx China, expressed satisfaction with this collaboration. "FedEx is a pioneer in sustainable logistics and is working towards a goal of carbon-neutral operations globally by 2040," said Koh. He emphasized the importance of engaging both team members and community members in supporting river conservation.

Xie Yuhong from ACEF highlighted the significance of this initiative: “Protecting One Kilometer of A River Course’ is a vital initiative for conserving water resources and the environment.” She noted that ACEF aims to integrate policies, technologies, and social resources to encourage broad societal participation in protecting rivers.

During the launch event, Xia Guang from ACEF discussed policies on river protection. “River protection requires participation and cooperation across all sectors of society," he stated. Guang underscored the need for innovative volunteer service models to enhance public awareness and address environmental challenges effectively.

FedEx also released a proposal encouraging public involvement in river conservation through roles like guardianship of ecosystems and advocacy for environmental awareness. The company continues its commitment to sustainability by promoting electric vehicles and organizing various community initiatives.

ACEF serves as an intermediary between government entities and the public on environmental matters. Supported by governmental bodies, it promotes sustainable development strategies nationwide.
