Delta Air Lines is making adjustments to its winter schedule, reducing flights on 11 transatlantic routes. These changes will primarily affect flights from New York JFK Airport and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, with Boston and Detroit also seeing some reductions.

The airline is responding to uncertain air travel demand despite an increase in revenues from transatlantic flying. Delta explained that these cuts could be due to seasonal demand fluctuations during slower travel months.

According to aviation data analytics firm Cirium, frequency reductions will begin as early as November. "Atlanta and New York JFK will see the most cuts," while destinations like Paris and Frankfurt are expected to be significantly impacted. The list of affected routes includes:

Some of these reductions extend into subsequent months, notably affecting routes such as Atlanta to Paris and New York JFK to Milan and Venice.

Delta has not provided additional information regarding these changes beyond what was shared in their recent earnings call. The airline's Q1 2025 report indicated a 5% increase in transatlantic revenue compared with the previous year, suggesting continued strong demand for transatlantic flights.

The carrier operates a diverse fleet of long-haul jets on these routes, including the Airbus A330neo and A350 models, alongside Boeing's older but reliable 767-400ER aircraft.
