Emirates Airbus A380s | Wikipedia

Emirates has a fleet of Airbus A380s with various seating configurations, the largest being a 615-seat version. This configuration includes 557 economy seats and 58 business class seats, omitting first class entirely. According to ch-aviation, Emirates operates 15 aircraft in this high-capacity layout.

These aircraft are primarily used on routes with high passenger volume but lower yield and premium demand. Emirates' strategy is to compensate for lower yields with higher seat volume. The airline's network from Dubai International Airport, the second-busiest airport globally for widebody flights, reflects this approach.

Between July and September, Emirates deploys its 615-seat A380s on several routes. Flights to Copenhagen and Prague are exclusively operated using this configuration. The Czech capital resumed A380 services in December 2024 after initially receiving the aircraft in May 2016. Copenhagen began using the superjumbo in December 2015, with the high-capacity variant introduced in January 2025.

Other destinations served by the high-capacity A380 include Bangkok (40% of flights), Manchester (66%), Bali (50%), Birmingham (50%), Düsseldorf (50%), Kuala Lumpur (33%), London Gatwick (33%), Mauritius (50%), and Taipei (60%).

The flight schedules to Copenhagen and Prague align closely for connectivity purposes, facilitating connections within Emirates' extensive Asia-Pacific network.

In Manchester, two out of three daily flights use the highest-capacity A380 configuration, while one flight uses a four-class layout with fewer seats. During the pandemic, this higher capacity version was introduced to Manchester.

Emirates has filed for a fourth daily service to Manchester using a Boeing 777-300ER; however, it remains unconfirmed whether this will proceed as planned.
