Emirates, in collaboration with the NBA, has unveiled a renovated space at the Boys and Girls Club of Oklahoma County. This initiative is part of the NBA Cares Finals Legacy Projects and Emirates' broader effort to contribute positively to communities across the United States.

The newly refurbished "Wonder Room" was introduced during a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by representatives from Emirates, the NBA, and players from the Oklahoma City Thunder. The event also included youth from the Boys and Girls Club who will benefit from this new facility. Key figures present were Adam Silver, NBA Commissioner; Mark Tatum, NBA Deputy Commissioner and Chief Operating Officer; Kathy Behrens, NBA President Social Responsibility & Player Programs; and Matthew Jones, Emirates’ VP-USA.

The Boys and Girls Clubs of Oklahoma County offer after-school programs for children to engage in extracurricular activities. Over its 30-year history, it has expanded significantly to serve more than 17,000 young people annually through its 16 clubs.

The Wonder Room was transformed from a third-grade classroom into an engaging environment equipped with technology, a STEM Zone, reading area, and lounge space for teenagers. The renovation included aesthetic improvements such as fresh paint and new graphics.

After the unveiling ceremony, a plaque commemorating the support of both Emirates and the NBA was installed in the room. Local youth celebrated by participating in a Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA basketball clinic.

Emirates serves as the Official Global Airline Partner of the NBA and plays an active role in supporting community initiatives like this one through various partnerships around the world.
