Alaska Airlines has announced several enhancements to its 737 fleet, aimed at improving the travel experience for passengers. The airline plans to increase the number of First and Premium Class seats, as well as upgrade popular features such as device holders and in-seat power.

By the end of 2025, Alaska Airlines' 737-800 and 737-8 MAX aircraft will feature an increase in First Class seats from 12 to 16. These seats are designed with more legroom, a new leg rest, seatback device holders, and USB-C ports for charging devices. "It’s the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the flight," states Alaska Airlines.

The number of Premium Class seats on the 737-900ER and 737-9 MAX aircraft will also expand from 24 to 30. This class offers more legroom, complimentary adult beverages, and early boarding privileges.

In addition to seating changes, all seats across many aircraft will be equipped with convenient device holders and USB-C ports. "We’re bringing convenient device holders to every seat ensuring your devices are always right where you need them and hands-free," according to Alaska Airlines.

A new feature includes reserved overhead bin placards above Premium Class seats for designated carry-on luggage space. This aims to facilitate a smoother boarding process.

Furthermore, by late 2025 nearly all of Alaska's 737 fleet will have a consistent interior design with updated bulkheads, cabin dividers, new seat leather, and carpets.

These updates are part of Alaska Airlines' broader strategy focused on safety, care, and performance across their entire narrow and widebody fleet. They plan future improvements for their A330 widebody fleet operated by Hawaiian Airlines.
