More than 200 trade union leaders from across Africa will convene in Maputo, Mozambique, from June 25 to 27, 2025. The gathering is for the 6th UNI Africa Regional Conference under the theme “Consolidate Working Class Power.” This event coincides with Mozambique's celebration of 50 years of independence on June 25.
The conference aims to strengthen strategies for increasing union density and enhancing collective bargaining. It also seeks to hold multinational companies accountable amid technological changes and economic challenges faced by the young African workforce. The meeting will include electing new leadership and setting an agenda for the next four years.
Prior to the main conference, UNI Africa Youth will meet on June 21, and UNI Africa Women will gather on June 24 and 25.
