Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) has announced the opening of the LAX/Metro Transit Center Station, along with a free shuttle service to all terminals operating every 10 minutes starting at 5 p.m.
According to Condé Nast Traveler, the LAX/Metro Transit Center Station officially opened on June 6, 2025. This development introduces a nearly $900 million rail and bus hub that connects LA Metro’s C and K light rail lines plus 14 bus routes. The station includes amenities such as restrooms, elevators, escalators, and bike storage. It is designed to accommodate approximately 5,000 passengers per hour, highlighting its role in improving connectivity to LAX.
Metro and LAist report that once public service began at 5 PM on June 6, 2025, Los Angeles World Airports initiated a free shuttle running every 10 minutes between the station and all terminals. The shuttle operates around the clock with loops at terminal arrival levels marked by pink-shaft signs. This service aims to reduce car dependency and ease curbside congestion until the Automated People Mover (APM) starts in early 2026.
