Emirates has secured slots to increase its flights from Manchester and London Gatwick to four daily, according to the Winter 2025 Initial Coordination Report by Airport Coordination Limited. If realized, this expansion would bring Emirates' total departures from London to 12 daily. Additionally, the airline has obtained slots for three daily services to Dublin.

The airline's history with these UK airports dates back decades, with Gatwick being served since 1987 and Manchester since 1990. Currently, both airports are serviced three times a day. All Manchester flights use the Airbus A380, while Gatwick operates two A380s and one Boeing 777-300ER service daily.

Despite obtaining slots, it is common for airlines like Emirates not to utilize them fully. "It is important to realize that many carriers obtain slots but end up not using them and handing them back," noted the report. An official announcement will confirm any changes in flight frequency.

If implemented, the additional Manchester service would be operated by a Boeing 777-300ER. The schedule anticipates a departure from Dubai at around 16:00 and a return at approximately 09:45+1 local time.

In 2024, Emirates carried over one million passengers between Dubai and Manchester, filling 87% of its seats—above its network average of about 79%. Approximately 65% of these passengers connected through Dubai to other destinations such as Pakistan, India, Thailand, Australia, and Mauritius.

The competition among Middle Eastern carriers in Manchester is robust. Alongside Emirates are Etihad Airways, Gulf Air, Kuwait Airways, Qatar Airways, Royal Jordanian, and Saudia. Together they offer up to 13 daily flights from Manchester this year—a number that could rise if Emirates expands its services as planned.
