Den Haag/Hoofddorp, 16 juni 2025 – Federal Express Corporation (FedEx) heeft een samenwerking aangekondigd met PostNL. Vanaf vandaag kunnen klanten pakketten van FedEx verzenden en retourneren via de meer dan 1100 pakketautomaten van PostNL. Deze samenwerking is gericht op het verbeteren van logistieke efficiëntie en het bieden van meer keuze en gemak voor consumenten.

De vraag naar bezorging buitenshuis groeit, en het gebruik van pakketautomaten is bijna verdubbeld in het afgelopen jaar. Pakketautomaten zijn populair vanwege hun 24/7 beschikbaarheid en strategische locaties, wat bijdraagt aan efficiëntere vervoersbewegingen. PostNL breidt daarom haar netwerk uit met nog eens 500 extra pakketautomaten bovenop de bestaande ruim 1100. Voor FedEx betekent dit een aanzienlijke toename in drop-off punten in Nederland, waardoor klanten meer opties hebben voor verzending en er efficiënter gebruik wordt gemaakt van middelen en netwerkcapaciteit. Deze nieuwe drop-off punten komen bovenop de circa 700 bestaande ophaalpunten van FedEx.

Ron Willemsen, Managing Director Ground Operations Benelux bij FedEx, verklaarde: “Deze samenwerking sluit naadloos aan bij onze ambitie om onze aanwezigheid in Nederland verder te versterken.” Hij voegde toe dat toegang tot het netwerk van PostNL hen in staat stelt hun klanten meer flexibiliteit te bieden bij het verzenden van pakketten.

PostNL had eerder al haar pakketautomaten opengesteld voor andere vervoerders. Barry Husman, Directeur Out-of-Home bij PostNL, benadrukte: “PostNL heeft een groot netwerk van pakketautomaten dat we steeds verder uitbreiden.” Hij legde uit dat door deze samenwerking klanten ook via FedEx gebruik kunnen maken van het uitgebreide netwerk van PostNL.
