The Cathay Group has marked a significant achievement, reaching 100 global destinations this June. The milestone was celebrated with a cocktail reception at Island Shangri-La in Hong Kong on June 12. The event was hosted by Cathay Group Chair Patrick Healy and CEO Ronald Lam, with Secretary for Transport and Logistics of the Hong Kong SAR Government Mable Chan as the guest of honor.

Mable Chan highlighted the significance of the milestone, stating: "Today, we celebrate a very important milestone in Cathay’s long journey over the past years – 100 destinations, 100 routes covering the four corners of the world." She acknowledged the collective efforts from both Cathay Group and Hong Kong authorities that contributed to this success. Chan also mentioned the Three-Runway System at Hong Kong International Airport, which supports future growth.

Patrick Healy expressed excitement about reaching this milestone ahead of schedule. "For almost 80 years, Cathay has been proudly connecting Hong Kong to the world by continuously expanding our global footprint," he said. Healy noted that in just two years, Cathay added 30 new passenger destinations. Additionally, he mentioned an investment program exceeding HK$100 billion aimed at enhancing fleet and services.

Ronald Lam reflected on Cathay's recovery journey: "I still remember our lowest point in our history was one day in March 2022... nowadays, we are carrying consistently more than 100,000 passengers on a daily basis." Lam emphasized teamwork and partnerships as key factors behind their current achievements.

During peak summer periods, Cathay Pacific and HK Express will serve numerous destinations across different regions. In November, Cathay Pacific plans to resume flights to Adelaide. The group aims to continue collaborating with government and industry partners to enhance customer choice and convenience while supporting Hong Kong's aviation hub development.

Below is a list of some new destinations launched or announced by the Cathay Group in 2025:

1. HK Express - Sendai (17 January)

2. Cathay Pacific - Hyderabad (30 March)

3. HK Express - Nha Trang (3 April)

4. HK Express - Ishigaki (3 April)

5. HK Express - Komatsu (24 April)

6. Cathay Pacific - Dallas Fort Worth (24 April)

7. Cathay Pacific - Urumqi (28 April)

The expansion reflects Cathay's commitment to growing its network worldwide.
