Airbus A350-1000 | Airbus

The Airbus A350-1000, known for its long range and high capacity, has been in commercial service since February 2018. Qatar Airways, the launch customer, remains the largest operator with 24 aircraft. Other airlines using this model include Air Caraïbes, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Ethiopian Airlines, Etihad Airways, French bee, Japan Airlines, and Virgin Atlantic.

During the third quarter of the year (July to September), airlines often see their highest revenue period. According to OAG data, there will be around 90 routes operated by the 10 users of the A350-1000 during this time. These routes include some of the shortest flights for this aircraft model.

The shortest scheduled flight is from Doha to Dammam with a minimum block time of one hour. This timing includes taxiing at both airports and potential delays. Qatar Airways operates this route on specific dates throughout July and August.

Other short routes include Libreville to Malabo by Ethiopian Airlines and Doha to Dubai by Qatar Airways. The latter operates twice weekly up to six times a week during the specified period.

Qatar Airways uses two configurations for its A350-1000s: a 327-seat version and a higher-capacity 395-seat layout. Both configurations are used on the short hop to Dammam.

In North America, Virgin Atlantic's shortest A350-1000 flight is from New York JFK to London Heathrow with a minimum block time of seven hours. This route does not have high international load factors but sees frequent use of the A350 variant alongside other models like the 787-9 and A330-900.
