John Wayne Airport has released its statistics for March 2025, showing a decline in passenger numbers compared to the same period last year. The total number of passengers in March 2025 was 928,717, representing a decrease of 3.7% from March 2024's figure of 964,073. Year-to-date figures also showed a decline of 6.7%, with total passengers reaching 2,525,696 compared to 2,705,622 in the previous year.

Enplaned passengers decreased by 3.9% in March 2025 to 465,445 from the previous year's count of 484,577. Deplaned passengers saw a similar trend with a reduction of 3.4%, totaling 463,272 compared to March 2024's figure of 479,496.

Total aircraft operations experienced a slight drop of 0.2% from last year’s figures for March but increased by 0.8% on a year-to-date basis. General aviation operations decreased marginally by 0.3%, while commercial operations fell by 2.4%. However, commuter operations saw significant growth with an increase of over fifty percent.

Military operations experienced a notable decline of over seventy percent in March and about thirty-one percent year-to-date.

Air cargo tonnage also saw reductions both monthly and yearly at John Wayne Airport. For March alone, air cargo tons dropped by over ten percent compared to the same month last year.

International statistics revealed that total international passengers fell by nearly ten percent in March compared to the previous year and were down almost twelve percent on a yearly basis.
