Cathay Pacific has resumed its direct flights between Hong Kong and Rome, marking a return to Italy's capital. This new summer seasonal service adds to Cathay Pacific's expanding network, which is nearing 100 global destinations in 2025.

This year, Cathay Pacific has introduced passenger services to four locations: Hyderabad, Dallas-Fort Worth, Urumqi, and now Rome. Additionally, HK Express has initiated services to Sendai, Nha Trang, Ishigaki, Komatsu, Changzhou, and Yiwu.

"Rome has long been an important destination for Cathay Pacific and a popular one among our customers," said Lavinia Lau, Cathay Chief Customer and Commercial Officer. "We first launched flights to the city in 1986 and we are thrilled to be back once again connecting our home, Hong Kong, with the Eternal City. We look forward to welcoming customers onboard with our signature Cathay Pacific service."

Lau also mentioned plans for launching flights to Munich and Brussels this summer. The airline will operate nearly 100 return flights weekly to 12 European destinations.

The new Hong Kong-Rome route will run three times per week on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays using the Airbus A350-900 aircraft. The aircraft features 38 flat-bed seats in Business Class, 28 seats in Premium Economy Class, and 214 seats in Economy Class.

Rome is now Cathay Pacific’s second destination in Italy alongside daily flights to Milan. In Europe, the airline also flies to Amsterdam, Barcelona, Frankfurt, London Heathrow, Madrid, Manchester, Paris and Zurich.

European travelers can connect through the Cathay Group's network across Asia-Pacific including access to 22 destinations in Mainland China served by both Cathay Pacific and HK Express.

Overall this year sees both airlines launching passenger services globally with more announcements expected soon as their combined network reaches 100 destinations worldwide.
