VietJet Airbus A321 | Airbus

Airbus has announced a significant order from VietJet Air at the 2025 Paris Air Show. The Vietnamese airline has agreed to purchase up to 150 A321neo aircraft from Airbus, including a Memorandum of Understanding for 100 firm orders and options for an additional 50 units. This deal strengthens the ongoing partnership between the European aircraft manufacturer and VietJet Air.

VietJet's Chair Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao highlighted the importance of this agreement, stating: "This new agreement marks a significant milestone in our strategic partnership with Airbus. These modern and efficient aircraft have been instrumental in Vietjet’s growth, helping us make air travel more accessible and affordable for millions, while strengthening our role as a connector for economic development, cultural exchange, and global connectivity."

The signing ceremony was attended by notable figures such as Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, CEO Dinh Viet Phuong of VietJet Air, Benoît de Saint-Exupéry (Airbus' EVP Sales), and Christian Scherer (Commercial CEO). This event follows another recent collaboration between the two companies where VietJet ordered 20 Airbus A330-900 widebody jets last month.

Benoît de Saint-Exupéry reflected on their longstanding relationship: "Together the A321neo and A330neo will be perfect partners for Vietjet to continue to spread its wings, efficiently matching capacity more closely to demand across its network."

VietJet currently operates 36 A321neos in its fleet and plans to expand with the long-range A321XLR variant. This move aligns with their strategy of growth as a multinational aviation group.
