Delta Air Lines has inaugurated its first nonstop flight from Salt Lake City to Seoul-Incheon, establishing a new link between the American West and Asia. The launch event at Salt Lake City International Airport included music and cultural displays, highlighting the significance of this new route.

Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall, alongside Delta's Meng Aguirre and airport officials, spoke about the opportunities this connection will bring to Utah and South Korea. They emphasized that this flight is more than just a travel option; it serves as a bridge between communities.

The celebration featured a musical performance symbolizing the cultural exchange enabled by the new route. Mayor Mendenhall expressed enthusiasm for welcoming Korean tourists and encouraged residents to be hospitable to visitors.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the route's official opening, followed by boarding Delta’s A350 aircraft. Passengers experienced Korean-language entertainment, traditional meals, and Korean-speaking attendants on board.

This service, developed with Korean Air, enhances access to Asian destinations and highlights Delta’s commitment to expanding trans-Pacific connectivity. It offers significant benefits for both business and leisure travelers.

In Seoul, Delta hosted events with local media and travel industry leaders to celebrate the new service. Jeff Moomaw, Vice President – Asia Pacific, noted: “With the launch of this new ICN–SLC route, Delta offers customers in Asia even greater access to our growing global network."
