Departing from New York's JFK International Airport, a special flight headed to Bermuda on June 17, marked a nostalgic return for Pan American World Airways (Pan Am). The flight, operated by Icelandair with a Boeing 757-200 registered as TF-FIC, bore the iconic Pan Am livery. This unique travel experience was created through a partnership between Criterion Travel and Bartelings' jet tour service.

The all-inclusive package offers five-star accommodations at each stop with airfare priced at $60,000 per person. The cabin is limited to 50 VIP flyers and outfitted with reclining business-class seats. The aircrew wore uniforms matching different decades in Pan Am’s history. Flight Attendant Anna Maria Aevarsdottir expressed her excitement about wearing the replica uniforms: "It's such an honor and a privilege to be stepping into this uniform. We hope we can embrace the grace that they showed America."

Criterion Travel described the journey as reminiscent of the Golden Age of travel, where the journey was as important and glamorous as the destination. Pan Am Global Holdings is considering a potential relaunch of Pan Am as a scheduled airline in collaboration with AVi8 Air Capital.

Icelandair’s charter service used one of its 757s for this commemorative flight. Despite announcing plans to retire its 757-300s last year, Icelandair continues to operate them until full divestment in favor of Airbus A321LR jets by 2026.

The flight itinerary includes stops in Bermuda, Lisbon, Marseille, London, and Foynes. Whether this venture could lead to a permanent return of Pan Am remains uncertain.
