Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) has been a significant hub in the United States for decades. Known for its size and high traffic, it is a central point for American Airlines and other carriers. To manage the flow of passengers across its extensive terminals, DFW introduced the Skylink system 20 years ago.

Skylink is an Automated People Mover (APM) that spans 4.8 miles of elevated track, providing quick transit between terminals at speeds up to 37 miles per hour. This system was designed to replace Airtrans, DFW's original people mover, and accommodate increasing passenger numbers.

"Whether you’re dashing to a gate or just enjoying the view, take a moment to appreciate the system that helped keep DFW moving for the past 20 years," states airport documentation about Skylink's role in facilitating efficient travel connections.

The airport continues to expand with projects like Terminal F and modernization efforts in Terminal C. These expansions are part of a broader strategy to maintain operational flexibility amid rising demand.
