Air France Airbus A350 | Air France

Air France is set to halt its winter Airbus A350 flights between Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport and Denver International Airport. The airline will conduct its final A350 flight on October 12, 2025, resuming service with this aircraft type on April 24, 2026. During the interim period, Air France will continue the route using its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

The decision to use a smaller aircraft suggests a potential decrease in expected demand. While no specific reason has been provided by Air France for this change, it coincides with trends observed by other airlines adjusting their transatlantic schedules due to shifting travel patterns. Steven Zaat, Chief Financial Officer of Air France-KLM, noted fewer Europeans are traveling to the United States.

Currently, Air France operates 37 Airbus A350-900s and ten Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners. The A350 offers more capacity than the Dreamliner; however, the shift reflects an adjustment in strategy during the winter season.

This move aligns with broader industry patterns as airlines such as Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa have also modified their US routes amid signs of declining transatlantic demand. According to reports, changes in US border policies may be impacting European travel decisions.

American Airlines has announced similar adjustments by suspending six transatlantic routes for part of the upcoming winter season. These include New York (JFK) to Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG), Dallas Fort/Worth (DFW) to Frankfurt (FRA), and others.

Airlines appear responsive to these market shifts by reducing flight frequencies and capacities as necessary across key international routes.
