Avianca has announced the launch of a new direct route between Bogotá, Colombia, and Córdoba, Argentina. The service, which began on June 16, offers three weekly flights with over 1,000 seats available. This announcement was made on the social media platform X.

According to Aviacionaldía, Avianca officially resumed its direct route between Bogotá and Córdoba on June 16, 2025. This marks the restoration of an important air link between Colombia and Argentina's second-largest city after suspensions due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The resumption of this service is expected to boost bilateral travel demand and economic activity, reflecting Avianca’s commitment to connecting major Latin American markets.

Aviaciónline reports that the Bogotá–Córdoba service operates three times weekly using Airbus A320neo aircraft. The outbound flight AV8343 departs Bogotá at 22:25 and lands in Córdoba at 06:10 the next morning. The return flight AV8342 departs Córdoba at 07:35 and arrives in Bogotá at 11:20. This schedule is designed to provide convenient overnight travel and support onward connections for passengers through Avianca’s Bogotá hub.

According to AeroRoutes, the new route is operated by Avianca Ecuador using Airbus A320neo aircraft. The relaunch aligns with Avianca’s broader South American expansion strategy, which includes new routes and increased frequencies to destinations in Argentina. This expansion supports the airline’s goal of enhancing connectivity throughout the Southern Cone.

Wikipedia notes that Avianca is Colombia's national flag carrier, founded in 1919, making it one of the world’s oldest airlines. Headquartered in Bogotá, Avianca operates a fleet of 128 aircraft serving 74 destinations across the Americas and Europe. It is a founding member of the Star Alliance network.
