Pacific Symphony is showcasing its history and achievements at John Wayne Airport, highlighting the legacy of Carl St.Clair. John Forsyte, President and CEO of Pacific Symphony, expressed gratitude to the airport for facilitating this public display. He emphasized the symphony's commitment to community engagement through various educational programs and concerts.

Over 35 years, St.Clair has led Pacific Symphony through significant musical endeavors with renowned artists like Yo-Yo Ma and Lang Lang. The symphony has gained international recognition through tours in Europe and China, a Carnegie Hall debut, and a PBS broadcast. St.Clair reintroduced opera to Orange County with semi-staged productions featuring top opera stars.

MC Sungaila, a board member of Pacific Symphony and part of the John Wayne Airport Arts Commission, stated that the exhibit honors the journey under St.Clair’s leadership. She noted that it was essential to share this story with both travelers and residents.

The symphony plays a vital role in shaping classical music's future through composer-in-residence relationships and commissioning efforts. Its educational initiatives include programs like Frieda Belinfante Class Act and arts-X-press summer camps.

The exhibit also looks forward to Alexander Shelley stepping in as artistic director, marking a new chapter for the orchestra.

Heather Bowling, John Wayne Airport Curator, praised Pacific Symphony's outreach efforts that make music accessible to all.

The exhibition is located at the Destination Gallery between Terminal B and C on the upper Departures level of John Wayne Airport. It is accessible without going through TSA security checks.

About Pacific Symphony: Founded in 1978 under Carl St.Clair since 1990, it is based at Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall. It presents over 100 concerts annually and engages more than 300,000 residents each year.
