Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines are offering families various services to ease the stress of traveling with children during summer vacations. The airlines provide premium upgrades, family-friendly services, and planning tools designed to make travel experiences smoother.

The airlines' combined network offers well-timed flight options aimed at providing seamless connectivity for all travelers, including children. "Flying from the Bay Area to the beautiful beaches of Kīhei, Maui? Heading to Orlando via Honolulu to see Mickey and Minnie?" is a scenario presented by the airlines as part of their travel options.

Parents concerned about seating arrangements can be assured that "children under 13 are always seated with at least one parent or adult booked on the same reservation, regardless of class of service and at no extra cost." Additionally, families have flexibility in changing plans due to illness without incurring change fees.

Airport lounges are available as a quiet retreat for families before boarding. They offer food and beverage bars, complimentary Wi-Fi, quiet zones, and comfortable furniture. For those seeking more comfort during flights, upgrades such as extra legroom and priority access to overhead bins are available.

Families can also opt for First Class for added benefits like priority boarding and chef-driven menus. "Families with children under two can board early," allowing parents extra time to settle in before departure.

Meal preordering is possible on Alaska Airlines through their app or website up to 20 hours before takeoff. Hawaiian Airlines allows requests for kids’ meals at least 48 hours prior to departure. Inflight entertainment includes over 1,000 movies and TV episodes suitable for all ages.

Internet access is provided across most of the fleet, with free high-speed internet available on many Hawaiian Airlines flights. Families can bring smartphones or tablets for streaming content during flights.

For travelers needing assistance with packing, both airlines offer practical tips. Strollers or car seats can be checked free of charge. Those who book vacations using certain credit cards may benefit from one free checked bag for themselves and up to six guests on their reservation.
