Qatar Airways has played a significant role in connecting the United States with its Doha hub, transporting nearly 3.4 million passengers between April 2024 and March 2025, according to data from the US Department of Transportation. The airline's operations in the US are crucial for facilitating travel, especially to and from India.

The airline operates 11 routes across the US, excluding Philadelphia, which is now served by American Airlines on Qatar Airways' behalf. New York JFK stands out as Qatar Airways' leading market in terms of passenger traffic. However, despite being a major hub, it recorded the lowest load factor at 88%. This figure surpasses Emirates' load factor of 84% but falls short of Etihad's 89%.

In terms of passenger numbers over the year ending March 2025, New York JFK led with 613,000 passengers. Other significant routes included Dallas/Fort Worth with a seat load factor of 95%, Washington Dulles at 90%, and Miami at 92%. Each route facilitated transit through Doha to various international destinations.

Regarding Philadelphia, Qatar Airways operated nonstop flights until October 2023 when American Airlines took over using Boeing 787-9 aircraft. Despite suspensions due to geopolitical issues, American carried approximately 184,000 passengers between Philadelphia and Doha during this period.

Qatar Airways began its US operations in June 2007 with flights from Doha to Newark via Geneva using A330-200 aircraft. Although services have since shifted to other airports like JFK and expanded in frequency and capacity with aircraft such as the Boeing 777-300ER and Airbus A350-1000.

Overall, Qatar Airways continues to maintain a strong presence in the US aviation market after nearly two decades of service.
