On June 27, a JetBlue flight from Boston to Las Vegas was diverted to Denver due to a suspected hydraulic issue. Flight B61177 took off from Boston at 07:24 and landed safely in Denver after four hours and 15 minutes. Passengers were transferred to another flight, which departed Denver at 14:26 MDT and arrived in Las Vegas at 14:51 PDT.

The aircraft involved was an Airbus A321-231 with registration N991JT, which has been part of JetBlue's fleet since December 2017. It is equipped with two IAE V2533-A5 engines and configured with both business and economy class seats.

According to Flightradar24, the flight left Boston Logan International Airport ahead of schedule and reached its cruising altitude of 34,000 feet before being diverted over Nebraska. The plane landed in Denver by 09:44 without any reported injuries.

JetBlue stated that "Safety is JetBlue’s first priority" and apologized for the delay caused by the diversion. The affected passengers were re-accommodated on a replacement Airbus A320ceo with registration N665JB. This aircraft originally flew from New York as B6 1497 but was rerouted for this service.

The diversion impacted other JetBlue services, including flights between Denver and New York City as well as between Las Vegas and Boston. Flight B6 1178 experienced significant delays due to these changes.

The grounded Airbus A321ceo will undergo maintenance inspections before continuing operations, while the replacement A320ceo continues its scheduled flights.

JetBlue operates a fleet of 278 aircraft consisting of various models including Airbus A320ceos, A321neos, A321ceos, Airbus A220-300s, and Embraer E190s.
