The 2025 Paris Air Show has concluded with numerous orders placed by major aircraft manufacturers including Airbus, ATR, Boeing, and Embraer. The event was overshadowed by the crash of Air India Flight 171. However, it still remains significant in the aviation industry.

The Paris Air Show, a major trade show held every odd-numbered year, saw Boeing slightly ahead with 593 total orders compared to Airbus's 571 for the year. Airbus secured the highest number of orders at the show itself with 250 confirmed sales and options for an additional 156 aircraft. These included models such as the A220s and A320neo family jets.

Embraer followed Airbus with 77 orders while Boeing recorded only 41 new orders during the event due to its focus on supporting the AI171 investigation. Boeing’s single order came from Japan's All Nippon Airways for a combination of Boeing 787-9s and Boeing 737 MAX 8s.

In terms of narrowbody aircraft sales this year, Airbus leads with a total of 431 single-aisle jets sold. The A320neo family continues to be a strong performer for Airbus, while their A220 received significant attention at Paris with an order from LOT for multiple units.

On the widebody front, despite fewer announcements at Paris due to prior commitments like investigating AI171 crash implications, Boeing remains dominant. The company reported substantial widebody sales earlier in May through a large order from Qatar Airways encompassing both the Boeing 777X and Boeing 787 models.

Airbus also saw notable success in its twin-aisle market segment with increased interest in its A350-1000 model this year following orders from airlines like Riyadh Air and Starlux Airlines.

Overall, both companies have experienced robust sales across different market segments this year despite challenges faced by each manufacturer. While Airbus excels in single-aisle sales, particularly through its A320neo line-up, Boeing maintains strength within widebody offerings through established models like the Dreamliner series.
