Embraer and CommuteAir have entered into an agreement to establish a maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility at Perot Field Alliance Airport in Fort Worth, Texas. This development marks a significant collaboration between the aircraft manufacturer and the regional airline. The new facility will allow CommuteAir to perform MRO services on its fleet of Embraer aircraft, streamlining maintenance processes.

CommuteAir currently operates 65 Embraer aircraft from bases in Washington Dulles International Airport and Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport. It is a partner of United Express and an affiliate of Star Alliance. The airline previously managed two maintenance hangars in Houston, Texas, and Albany, New York.

Embraer began operations at the new Fort Worth hangar earlier this week. Plans are underway for a second hangar at the site by 2027, in partnership with the City of Fort Worth and the State of Texas Construction. This expansion is expected to increase Embraer's service capacity for U.S. aviation customers by 53%.

Frank Stevens, Vice President of MRO Services at Embraer Services & Support expressed optimism about the deal: “This contract with CommuteAir is an important milestone for Embraer... We look forward to welcoming CommuteAir here at Perot Field Alliance [Airport].”

The collaboration between Embraer and CommuteAir aims to improve operational efficiency and reliability while potentially enhancing future business prospects.
