World of Hyatt's recent expansion to include Standard hotels is creating new opportunities for members to earn and redeem points. The integration, however, varies, as some hotels take on more of an affiliation rather than full integration with the loyalty program's award chart and elite benefits.

Standard hotels, known for their unique locations in places like New York City, the Maldives, and Singapore, are now part of the World of Hyatt family. This offers members a chance to use their points at these properties. A recent visit to The Standard, High Line in New York City's Meatpacking District highlighted how Hyatt perks play out at this location.

According to Summer Hull from The Points Guy, "Many, though not all, Standard hotels are now truly a part of the World of Hyatt program." Award prices vary by location with examples such as The Standard Bangkok Mahanakhon starting at 12,000 points per night and The Standard Maldives starting at 21,000 points per night.

Hull notes that while most Standard hotels adhere to the Hyatt award chart, some properties do not follow typical suite upgrade rules. She states that at certain locations like New York City’s High Line hotel "you won't be able to use Globalist suite upgrades or a fixed number of points to secure suites when available."

Additional benefits experienced during the stay included waived fees for those staying on points and bonus point earnings through incidental charges placed on a World of Hyatt Credit Card. Hull shared that they received "a 4 p.m. late checkout" due to their Globalist status.

A notable perk for Globalist members is complimentary breakfast. At The Standard Grill in New York City’s High Line location, options included eggs Norweigan and Gruyere-and-bacon quiche with up to $120 daily breakfast cost covered by Globalist status.

Overall, Hull expressed satisfaction with the integration between World of Hyatt and Standard Hotels stating she was "absolutely thrilled by the way" both entities combined their strengths.
