Long Beach Airport (LGB) has been ranked second among the 50 Best Airports in America by The Washington Post. Known for its convenient location in Southern California and stress-free customer experience, LGB remains a popular choice for travelers.

Mayor Rex Richardson stated, “Our award-winning airport is the preferred gateway to Southern California, offering a first-class experience for travelers.” He emphasized that this recognition highlights LGB's significant role in welcoming visitors for upcoming events like the World Cup and the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The Washington Post described LGB as "simple to navigate and quick to get in and out of," with travelers appreciating its courtyard that "brings the beach to the airfield." One reader referred to it as their “airport oasis.”

Long Beach Airport features modern facilities such as a Ticketing Lobby and Baggage Claim area, along with a renovated Historic Terminal from 1941. It also offers live music by local artists and improved Terminal Roadway access. Airport Director Cynthia Guidry expressed gratitude for the recognition, stating, “It’s a compliment to all of our business partners and staff who strive to deliver the best passenger experience.”

Previously recognized by Condé Nast Traveler magazine as one of the Top 10 airports in 2023 and 2024, LGB was also honored at the Long Beach Heritage Preservation Awards for restoring its Historic Terminal.

Located between Los Angeles and Orange counties, LGB's airlines—Delta Air Lines, Hawaiian Airlines, and Southwest Airlines—provide nonstop service to 21 U.S. airports including Hawaii, with one-stop connections to nearly 400 cities worldwide.

The City of Long Beach is situated along the Southern California coast with approximately 466,000 residents. Known for its vibrant downtown area and scenic beaches, Long Beach is both a tourist attraction and business hub featuring landmarks like the Queen Mary and Aquarium of the Pacific.
