Federal Express Corporation, known globally as FedEx, has announced the launch of its first direct flight connecting Taiwan and South Korea. This development is expected to enhance service and capacity between these two markets, providing a more efficient operational experience for importers and exporters. The move is particularly significant for trade in high-tech industries.
The newly introduced direct flight will operate daily, linking Taiwan via the FedEx Transshipment Center at Taoyuan International Airport with South Korea through the FedEx Incheon Gateway at Incheon International Airport. The service aims to boost Taiwan’s import and export activities by offering greater flexibility and reliability in logistics transportation. It also seeks to reinforce Taiwan’s role in global trade.
Paul Sousa, managing director of FedEx Taiwan, commented on the new initiative: “This inaugural direct flight between Taiwan and South Korea is a significant milestone in our operations and underscores our commitment to strengthening connections within the Asia-Pacific region.” He added that this move optimizes their air network, enhancing logistics services' capacity and reliability while empowering Taiwanese businesses to access new markets.
