The inaugural flight from Addis Ababa Bole International Airport to Porto, Portugal, took off on July 2, 2025. The launch event was attended by guests, dignitaries, and executives from Ethiopian Airlines. This new route is a part of Ethiopian Airlines' growing global network and enhances the socio-economic relationship between Ethiopia and Portugal.

Mr. Mesfin Tasew, CEO of Ethiopian Airlines Group, commented: “We are truly delighted to launch a new flight to Porto, Portugal, reinforcing yet another link between Africa and Europe. We are dedicated to enhancing our passengers’ convenience in traveling across the globe in a seamless connection and delivering our renowned award-winning services.
