Boeing 727 | Official Website

The Boeing 727, known for its distinctive design with a high T-shaped tail and rear engine, was once one of Boeing's most successful aircraft. Over 1,800 units were delivered, serving both passenger and freight purposes. Some of these planes found new roles as private jets, including one allegedly linked to Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar.

This particular Boeing 727 is now an Airbnb located in Skyline Park in Brislington, Bristol. The aircraft features amenities like a gold-plated toilet and hot tub. Johnny Palmer acquired the plane in 2020 after its final flight to Filton Airfield in Bristol in 2012. It has since been converted into a multi-use space.

Pablo Escobar was known for his extravagant lifestyle and reportedly owned various aircraft, possibly including this Boeing 727. However, ownership records are unclear due to registration under the Cayman Islands. Johnny Palmer commented on the rumors: "I've heard rumors that Pablo Escobar might have owned it for a while."

The jet's history includes service with Japan Airlines and German charter airline Hapag-Lloyd before being converted into a private jet by Reseverry Corp until 1992. It was then used by various operators until its decommissioning at Filton Airport in 2012.

Today, the repurposed plane is powered by solar energy and retains many original systems like cockpit lights and heating systems. It serves as both an accommodation option on Airbnb and a venue for events or creative projects.

Palmer has expressed interest in acquiring another disused airframe for restoration at Skyline Park.
