Emirates is set to introduce its Premium Economy service on the Dubai-Kolkata route, starting July 18, 2025. This development marks Kolkata as the fourth Indian city to offer this class, following successful implementations in Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Ahmedabad.

The Premium Economy service will be available on flights EK572/573. Flight EK573 will operate four times a week—on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays—departing Kolkata at 20:45 local time and arriving in Dubai at 00:05. The return flight EK572 departs Dubai at 13:05 and arrives in Kolkata at 19:15 local time. Tickets are currently available for booking through various platforms including emirates.com.

Mohammad Sarhan, Emirates’ Vice President for India and Nepal, expressed enthusiasm about the new offering: “We are delighted to introduce our highly-acclaimed Premium Economy experience to Kolkata, marking another significant milestone in our commitment to the Indian market.” He noted that the response from other Indian cities has been positive and expects similar reception in Kolkata.

Dining options include regional dishes served on Royal Doulton fine china with stainless steel cutlery. Passengers can also enjoy an extended beverage list featuring premium wines and exclusive beverages.

Entertainment options include a 13.3-inch HD personal screen with access to Emirates’ ice–in-flight entertainment system. Passengers can connect their own headphones via Bluetooth and benefit from improved Wi-Fi connectivity on certain aircraft.

Premium Economy passengers are entitled to a checked-in baggage allowance of 35kg plus an additional 10kg of carry-on baggage. The cabin features 24 seats on Emirates' latest Boeing 777 aircraft.

This expansion underscores Emirates' commitment to providing world-class travel options across India.
