FedEx has partnered with FUSO to integrate 12 fully electric delivery trucks into its fleet in Taiwan. This move marks FedEx as the first international logistics company in Taiwan to utilize electric vehicles for deliveries. The initial six trucks are already in operation, featuring extended driving range, regenerative braking technology, and strong torque suitable for urban environments.

According to FUSO's assessment, these electric trucks can significantly cut energy costs compared to traditional diesel models. Designed for urban delivery demands in Taiwan, they offer enhanced maneuverability and a driving range of up to 200 kilometers per charge with three battery packs. The regenerative braking system minimizes charging downtime, while quick acceleration ensures smooth navigation through urban traffic.

Paul Sousa, managing director of FedEx Taiwan, stated: "As FedEx works towards a goal of carbon neutrality across its global operations by 2040, fleet electrification is a key part of our roadmap to get there." He emphasized that the introduction of electric trucks aligns with their commitment to environmental sustainability and operational efficiency.

Jung Woo Park, CEO of Daimler Trucks Asia Taiwan, expressed pride in delivering the all-electric FUSO eCanter to FedEx: "FUSO aims to support businesses in Taiwan in achieving smart and sustainable logistics through proven technology and comprehensive after-sales support."

In December 2023, FedEx introduced five e-tricycle Rapide 3 vehicles in Taiwan. With the new electric trucks now part of their fleet, FedEx plans to continue evaluating performance as they gradually electrify their pickup and delivery operations. This initiative is part of FedEx's broader strategy for sustainable logistics and carbon-neutral operations by 2040.
