Aeromexico has announced the celebration of one year of direct service from Mexico City to Tampa, Raleigh-Durham, and Washington, D.C. The airline is marking this milestone by posting photos of landmarks in each city and inviting customers to identify them.

According to Aeromexico’s official X account, the launch of these direct flights in 2024 was part of a strategy aimed at enhancing travel connectivity and boosting international traffic from Mexico. The airline identified these U.S. cities as significant cultural and business hubs with growing demand for nonstop service. As noted by Routes Online, Aeromexico has continued to expand its U.S. network in response to strong market performance and the lifting of previous regulatory restrictions on new U.S. routes.

The addition of direct routes to Tampa, Raleigh-Durham, and Washington, D.C., according to the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), has led to increased air traffic between Mexico and these destinations. In partnership with Delta Air Lines, Aeromexico has improved options for travelers seeking efficient connectivity between major North American cities. Official DOT data confirms that Mexican carriers, including Aeromexico, saw notable gains in passenger volume after launching new U.S. routes in 2024, supporting tourism and business travel growth.
